Squad joins the Medef delegation in Australia

Since Saturday, October 5, 2019, Squad has been part of the MEDEF business leaders' delegation to Australia and New Zealand. This is an opportunity for Squad to consolidate its position in Australia and forge strong links with local businesses, as well as with Australian business reception programs.

Led by Mr. Hervé Guillou, Chairman of the France-Australia Business Council and CEO of Naval Group, and Mr. Thierry Mallet, Chairman of the France-New Zealand Business Council and CEO of Transdev, this delegation aims to strengthen economic ties between France, Australia, and New Zealand.

Monday, October 7

  • Scoping meeting with the French Ambassador to Australia, Mr. Christophe Penot; Ms. Myriam Boisvouvier-Wylie, Honorary Consul; Mr. Antoine Chery, Head of the Regional Economic Department (SER) for Australia and the Pacific; and Ms. Vanessa Bonnet, Head of the SER office in Sydney.
  • Interview with Mr. Josh Frydenberg, Treasurer of the Australian Federal Government.
  • Dinner with Mr. Steven Marshall, Premier of South Australia.

Meeting with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, Australia's second-in-command. Direct discussions with the MEDEF delegation led by Hervé Guillou.

Tuesday, October 8

  • Business Forum of the Franco-Australian Chamber of Commerce (FACCI).
  • Interview with Mr. Pablo Kang, Assistant Secretary in the Pacific Infrastructure Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Visit to the Sydney Innovation & Tech Precinct – Australian Technology Park – Data61 (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation – CSIRO) and presentation of Australia's innovation ecosystem.

Wednesday, October 9

  • French-Australian breakfast organized by GICAN, at the French Pavilion at the 2019 Pacific Exhibition.
  • Working lunch with the European Australian Business Council (EABC).

Squad's participation in this business delegation, just over a year after first setting foot in Australia and six months after launching a local subsidiary, demonstrates the commitment of Squad and its teams to establishing a presence in Australia. As a reminder, Squad accompanied President Emmanuel Macron on his trip to Australia in May 2018 , representing five medium-sized companies at the forefront of French technology.
