On June 20 and 21, before the summer break, your favorite UX designers traveled to Paris for the annual FLUPA UX Days event: two days of workshops and conferences, which brought together nearly 1,000 UX design professionals from across the French-speaking world at the Cité des Sciences de la Villette.
Fun and practical workshops!
The least we can say is that this 8th edition was VERY rich... just look at the workshop program, for which places were snapped up in record time! A dozen workshops, including a choice between facilitation techniques, awareness-raising games, practical training in tools (XD), and lots and lots of experience sharing.
And because at FLUPA we love to share, the workshops will be traveling throughout France to the association's various branches throughout the year. So whether you're in Lyon, Aix, Toulouse, or Sophia, don't hesitate to let us know which ones interest you so you can attend one near you!
International conferences
There was a great turnout this Friday in the Gaston Berger amphitheater! Starting with Steve Krug, American author of the reference book Don't Make Me Think. With 30 years of experience as a UX designer, he looked back on the evolution of the profession, from usability studies not so long ago to user experience design today. With his legendary calm and kindness, he reminded his young admirers of the central role of the designer in maintaining best practices (e.g., user testing) and avoiding the pitfalls of manipulation (dark patterns).

She was also eagerly awaited: Emmanuelle Marévéry from the Colorlink agency, gave us a breathtaking talk on data collection and its use in UX design. Punctuated with examples gathered from major companies (Decathlon, Ubisoft, etc.), her talk was full of original, simple ideas that can be applied to different types of projects. It was a mind-blowing talk that made us want to take a step back and look at what the numbers are telling us! UX+Data=Love
No introduction needed Blablacar , who came to talk about the implementation of their Design System, and above all to show how they managed to significantly reduce the launch time for new concepts thanks to this system. The talk covers organizational aspects as well as practical tips and their feedback on certain prototyping tools (Origami, Framer). A talk that will be of interest to many Squad members who are interested in Design Systems. Evolution of Design Systems: Closing the gap between ideas and reality
A newcomer to the UX Days scene, but certainly not new to the profession, Jean-Yves Rigaldustudio Daventure in Lyon, demonstrates that being a UX designer also means opening up your practice to your colleagues and clients (PM, PO, Scrum master, etc.). In his model, the UX designer becomes a mentor, or even a coach, enabling others to take over and implement UX practices within their teams. This is an example of sharing that promotes collaboration and offers an appealing vision of the evolution of the UX designer profession. A real favorite! When designers lose control

It's impossible to cover all of the talks from this day, but we couldn't pass up the presentation by Morgan Peng, UX and Design Director at Société Générale in London. She humorously discusses the different types of profiles we have to convince as UX designers, and how to do so. A refreshing and well-delivered talk that makes us think about our own communication strategies within the company. So, enjoy! A great atmosphere to the beat of the music!
In keeping with the spirit of Music Day, participants, organizers, and speakers gathered every evening to the sounds of DJs at La Folie de la Villette. Whether chilling out in deck chairs, hanging out at the open bar, or dancing the night away, everything came together for a fantastic UX experience!
We therefore strongly encourage you to keep an eye out for ticket sales for the next edition, which promises to be even more exciting as the event continues to grow!
See you next year at UX Days!
