Since February, Squad has been a partner of Lyon Ynov Campus! On the agenda: job dating events, conferences, and meetings! Some former students joined Squad at the end of their training, such as Clémence G, our cybersecurity expert, who is currently on assignment at an OIV.
Clémence, can you tell us about your background and your current role?
After five years of work-study, I graduated in September 2020 and immediately joined Squad in Lyon. I learned about the company through a speaker at my school.
Since October 2020, I have been working as a cybersecurity consultant and joined the "Blue Team" of an OIV (Operator of Vital Importance) to strengthen the SOC analyst team.
The Blue Team is responsible for detecting and responding to security incidents. For detection, we use Splunk and RSA Netwitness SIEMs. Incident response involves digital forensics, malware reverse engineering, evidence collection, and more. We also monitor new detection mechanisms and investigation methods.
There are about ten of us Squadians in this SOC, spread across different teams, including three in the Blue Team.
What training did you take at Ynov Lyon Campus?
Since the Master's in Cybersecurity did not yet exist when I was a student, I pursued a Master's in Cloud Security and Infrastructure with a major in Cybersecurity.
Lyon Ynov Campus helped me in two areas of my professional career.
The first is having had the opportunity to pursue a work-study program. The second is meeting speakers who are almost all from the professional world.
These professionals were able to advise us on the skills sought after in the job market and the reality of working life.
Are you currently enrolled in any certification programs?
I haven't started any certification training yet to give myself time to adapt to my new role, but I would like to start certification training on Splunk (a widely used SIEM in businesses) soon.
Nevertheless, I started a (non-certification) training course via the Udemy platform provided by Squad to bring myself up to speed on Splunk.
